Celebrating our Sporting Champions of 2025
The Swansea Sports Awards in association with Freedom Leisure ceremony will take place on Thursday 2 April 2026 at the Brangwyn Hall. Tickets are on sale now!
Swansea has a proud tradition of producing great sports people. It takes dedication, determination and hours of hard work to maintain the city of sport we know and love.
Whether it's the volunteer or the coach who puts in hour after hour behind the scenes, the team which has been the most successful through the year or the sportsperson that has achieved the most in their sport, Swansea is a city full of sporting champions.

There are 15 categories:
- Sportsperson of the Year sponsored by Andrew D'Auria Solutions Limited
Open to all nominees regardless of age.

- Junior Sportswoman of the Year
Open to nominees who compete at a junior level. Nominees must have been aged 18 years or under on the 1st January 2025.
- Junior Sportsman of the Year
Open to nominees who compete at a junior level. Nominees must have been aged 18 years or under on the 1st January 2025.
- Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability
Open to all nominees regardless of age.
- Junior Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability sponsored by Stowe Family Law
Open to nominees who compete at a junior level. Nominees must have been aged 18 years or under on the 1st January 2025.

- Performance Coach of the Year
Nominees should be qualified coaches in their sport, with a proven track record of helping individuals or teams succeed—whether that's at regional, national, or international level.
- Community Coach of the Year
Nominees should be qualified coaches who generously give their time as volunteers in their sport. They'll have made a real impact by inspiring more people to get active and helping them stay involved in sport within their local community.
- Volunteer of the Year sponsored by EYST Wales
This award is open to any amazing volunteer who's generously given their time and energy to support a sporting organisation. Nominees must offer help that has no financial reward, does not form part of their job, and does not take place at their place of work.

- Inspiring Young Person of the Year sponsored by Arvato Connect
Open to any young person, aged 25 years or under on the 1st January 2025.
This award celebrates volunteers who've generously given their time to spark a love for sport and physical activity in others. These nominees are true role models—creative, passionate, and dedicated to getting people involved and keeping them engaged. Nominees must offer help that has no financial reward, does not form part of their job, and does not take place at their place of work.

- Senior Club or Team of the Year
Open to teams of amateur status, which compete at a senior level. Teams must represent or be based in Swansea.
- Junior Club or Team of the Year sponsored by Route Media
Open to teams who compete at a junior level. Team members must have been aged 18 years or under on the 1st January 2025.

- School Team of the Year sponsored by Gower College Swansea
Open to Primary and Secondary School teams. Team members must have represented the school team being nominated, between 1st January and 31st December 2025.

- Getting Swansea Active Award
This award is all about celebrating people or groups who have helped get others moving between 1st January and 31st December 2025 — whether that's through a club, school, organisation, event, programme or project, or just by inspiring themselves or their community to be more active.
We're looking for nominees that show:
• New people getting involved in physical activity
• Efforts to reach out to under-represented or diverse communities
• Inspiring others to spread the word and promote being active
• Creative or fresh ideas that help break down barriers to participation
• Activities that aren't necessarily traditional sports
• Fun, inclusive experiences that make everyone feel welcome—no matter their background or ability
• Individuals who've overcome personal challenges to become more active
- Lifetime Contribution to Sport sponsored by ADS Andrew D'Auria Solutions Limited
This category recognises individuals that have contributed significantly to the organisation and/or administration of sport in Swansea, over many years.

- Special Recognition Award
This category recognises the significant achievements of sportspeople, in their sport or sports, over many years.
