Swansea Arts Weekend – the city’s celebration of creativity is back!
Join us in Swansea City Centre on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 October 2025 for a vibrant weekend of art, music, and performance – all for FREE!
Come and enjoy:

- Interactive workshops for all ages
- Inspiring exhibitions and installations
- Pop-up events and spontaneous entertainment
- Talks from leading Welsh creatives
Featured events include:
- When Pele Broke Our Hearts – a moving theatre piece (both performances will have assisted listening)
- Queertawe Cabaret – joyful, inclusive performances (performance will have assisted listening)
- Melomania Dance: Money Game – Swansea-based dance company blending contemporary hip-hop and physical theatre to tell impactful stories
- Family-friendly art workshops and puppet-making

Spooks in the City: Monster Mashup
This October half-term, cast your eyes to the skies and prepare for a monstrous spectacle as gigantic inflatable creatures take over Swansea city centre!
Our annual event Spooks in the City, supported by the Childcare Offer for Wales, is getting a spine-chilling update. In addition to family friendly fun in St David’s ‘Peculiar’ Place, a brand-new zone hosted in Amy Dilwyn ‘Dark’ Park is set to delight braver children. With eight towering monsters looming large over the city this year's event is set to transform Swansea into a playground of Halloween fun. As night falls, the monsters will glow eerily, guiding you on a spooky, glow-in-the-dark trail through the city centre.
Plus, there’s more ghoulish entertainment, including:
- Face painting
- Street performances
- Live dance shows
- Costumes galore!

The Spooky Castle
Pop along to Oystermouth Castle for a Halloween-themed event taking a fun and light-hearted approach specifically suited for children.
Expect no scares, just giggles with plenty of interactive entertainment and storytelling.

Halloween Ghost Train
Hop aboard the Swansea Bay Rider for a spine-chilling journey along the scenic promenade this Halloween.
The popular land train gets a spooky makeover for its special ghostly rides during the October half-term. Why not dress up in your best Halloween costumes to add to the eerie atmosphere?
Where: the Halloween departs and returns to Blackpill Lido
When: Monday 27th – Friday 31st October. Departing: 3.30pm, 4.30pm, 5.30pm, 6.30pm and 7.30pm. Each journey lasts approximately 45 minutes.
Tickets: £7.50, advance booking required.
Unmissable Half-Term Fun at Swansea Science Festival
Looking for fun this October half-term? Wales’ biggest Science Festival returns to Swansea Waterfront Museum with two days packed full of discovery, entertainment and hands-on science for all ages.
See the Royal Institution’s explosive live shows FIRED UP and Explosive Food, meet wildlife filmmakers Lizzie Daly and Hamza Yassin, and enjoy family favourites like Bubbles and Balloons and the Superhero Scientists.
Beyond the headline shows, explore free drop-in activities, interactive exhibits, and fascinating demonstrations - from the science of sweets to the wonders of engineering.
