Gŵyl Tawe - Swansea’s Welsh Language-Led Festival

Gŵyl Tawe returns this Saturday 6 June, bringing together an exciting line-up of alternative and contemporary Welsh language-led arts and music.   

This free, full day of entertainment, hosted at the National Waterfront Museum, is headlined by the acclaimed Gwenno, with performances from Melin Melyn, Mellt, Candelas, Cerys Hafana, Carwyn Ellis & Rio 18, with more across indoor and outdoor stages.   

This year also introduces exciting new community elements, including youth workshops, a community choir led by Ify Iwobi, and a brand-new stage for local schools and emerging artists.    

Gŵyl Tawe is presented by Menter Iaith Abertawe, Swansea's Welsh language initiative.

IRONMAN 70.3 Swansea 

Come show your support on Sunday 12 July as Swansea becomes the backdrop for the thrilling IRONMAN 70.3, a race celebrated for its stunning mix of coastline, city, and countryside. Athletes take on a 1.2‑mile dock swim, a 56‑mile bike ride through the Gower, and a 13.1‑mile run along Swansea Bay, all set against some of Wales’ most spectacular scenery.  

When planning your trip, please be aware of the planned road closures that will be in place.

Swansea Half Marathon

Swansea Half Marathon is set to take place on Sunday 7 June 2026, welcoming thousands of runners to the start line at the iconic Copr Bay bridge near Swansea Arena.   

Registration may be closed for the half-marathon, but spectators can cheer their support from along the seafront. The Swansea Half Marathon is a closed road course and will require the closure of some public highways.

Wales Airshow Returns 25 & 26 July

The skies above Swansea Bay are set to roar back into life as the Wales Airshow returns on July 25 and 26, bringing an action-packed weekend of aviation, entertainment and family fun to kickstart the summer holidays.   

Marvel at high-flying acrobatics performed by world-class pilots as they showcase their incredible skills. Enjoy performances from RAF Typhoon, Dakota, Spitfire, Hurricane, Tutor and many more!  

The action isn’t just in the air, on the ground, you’ll find a wide variety of food and drink options to keep you satisfied throughout the weekend, along with live music, military displays, and funfair attractions.

Outdoor Theatre returns this summer and you are in for a treat as Illyria Theatre Company brings three live performances to the grounds of Oystermouth Castle!
